Our historic Sixth Avenue Clubhouse is the women-organized and women-run sanctuary where members come together to learn, enjoy, explore, socialize and be our authentic selves.

Delectable Culinary & Wine Selections

The Women’s University Club is more than our name—it’s our essential heritage. We’ve offered educational programming of all types and topics—from world history to current events, music to literature, art history to crafts—to our members and their families for more than a century.

WUC members cherish the life of the mind and the intrinsic value of learning for its own sake. We also know that some of life’s most important lessons are experienced in unexpected moments outside the classroom—a missed brush stroke that leads to inspiration, a casual conversation that offers enlightenment, or the emotional resonance of a sunset illuminating the Pacific Northwest’s most vibrant city.

Dedicated to Lifelong Learning

Our Clubhouse features four floors filled with classes, conferences, conversations and connections. This is a convenient destination to survey the works of William Shakespeare or enjoy the finer points of bridge or mahjong, learn Advanced French or discuss philosophy and religion, or move with ballroom dancing and the art of the tango, tap dancing and yoga.

We also engage with our community and the world at large, getting together for day outings and inspirational musical performances, and enjoying destination travel here and abroad!

One Stop Classes & Activities

Members of the WUC are in the legal and medical professions, business leaders and innovators, artists and architects, scholars and writers, educators and academics—leaders in their field and in their community.

We teach, lead and learn by example, as a way of passing on gained wisdom and knowledge from one person to the next—a process and a philosophy at the heart of our mission.

Leadership, Mentoring & Modeling

Our members represent a range of ages and a variety of backgrounds. The WUC’s inclusive, connected culture places a special emphasis on programs of interest to the region’s underrepresented communities and individuals.

Events and resources include a speaker series featuring local, regional and state leaders from a variety of academic, corporate, governmental and nonprofit organizations. We are brought together by activities such as these to encourage and support mutually respectful relationships, a strong sense of community togetherness, and a common ambition to serve the greater good.

Whether it’s a fun lunch with friends, a sumptuous white-linen dinner, or taking part in one of our many holiday events and club occasions, our talented culinary team creates delectable cuisine, curates stellar wine selections, and crafts signature cocktails — all with a personalized touch.
